Privacy Policy
BizHunt ("BizHunt," "we," "us") operates bizhunt.ai, a platform that helps buyers discover, analyze, and pursue businesses for sale. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using BizHunt you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
- Account information. Your name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash), or your Google account profile if you sign in with Google.
- Google sign-in data. If you use "Sign in with Google," we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We use this information only to create and authenticate your BizHunt account. We do not access your Gmail, contacts, calendar, or any other Google data.
- Profile & preferences. Information you add to the platform, such as your acquisition criteria ("buy box"), saved deals, pipeline activity, notes, and documents you upload (e.g., CIMs).
- Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number; we receive only the subscription status and the last four digits of your card.
- Usage data. Log data such as pages viewed, features used, browser type, and IP address, used to operate and improve the service.
How we use your information
- To provide the service: accounts, deal search, AI analysis, pipeline tools, and the buyer network.
- To process subscriptions and billing through Stripe.
- To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password resets, service notices) and, with your consent, product updates. You can unsubscribe from non-essential email at any time.
- To secure the platform, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
AI processing
Some features send the business-listing content or documents you choose to analyze to AI service providers (such as OpenAI) to generate analysis. We send only what is needed for the feature you invoked, and we do not permit these providers to use your content to train their models under our agreements with them.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers who help us run BizHunt — hosting and database (Supabase, Netlify), payments (Stripe), email delivery (Resend), and AI processing (OpenAI) — under agreements limiting their use of the data, or when required by law.
Network features
If you use the BizHunt Network, the profile information you choose to publish (name, headline, roles, activity) is visible to other members. You control what you share there.
Data retention & deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account and associated personal data at any time by emailing support@bizhunt.ai; we will complete deletion within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., billing records).
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to production systems is restricted and audited. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
Cookies
We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
Children
BizHunt is not directed to individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page with an updated date above.
